The RAN is improving its heavily deployed constabulary forces and is in the process of acquiring the capacity to project maritime power to an extent not previously envisaged. The RAN has paid greater attention towards enhacing its recruitment and retention and also attempting to uplift its institutional culture to avoid the regrettable failings that have brought negative publicity in recent years.
