Reprint of 1994 edition.
The bulk of this book is a study of manoeuvre warfare and the role of air power in supporting it. Describes German and Soviet experiences as they evolved during the Second World War, Israeli Defence Force experiences in a succession of conflicts with neighbouring states, summarises the position in the early 1990's and briefly includes the Gulf War. The second and much smaller part of the book is a commentary on the foregoing prepared by military doctrine analysts at the Air University, Maxwell AFB, USA.
