Describes German and Soviet experiences as they evolved during the Second World War, Israeli Defence Force experiences in a succession of conflicts with neighbouring states, summarises the position in the early 1990's and briefly includes the Gulf War. The second and much smaller part of the book is a commentary on the foregoing prepared by military doctrine analysts at the Air University, Maxwell AFB, USA.
