520 _aThe aim of the article is to identify the determinants of military expenditure and analyse any uniformity in factors which create demand for military expenditure in the countries selected. To identify the determinants of military expenditures of NATO countries, the paper have used quantified economic, security, and political risks. The paper investigated quantified determinants of military expenditure in NATO countries from 2001 to 2017, identifying disparities in the development of the determinants for 'traditional' and 'new' member countries, as shown by the two groups of countries obtained as a result of the multidimensional classification model.
