The documents humanitarian activities of Chinese national contingents in UN peacekeeping operations and suggests that Chinese soldiers are executing a humanitarian program likely orchestrated by its national military organization. This article also discusses factors inherent in the current UN peacekeeping regime that enable national contingents, including but not limited to those of China, to engage in independent humanitarian action while serving under the UN flag. | ||
