520 _aWith the return of Shinzo Abe as Japan's President in September 2012, it is observed that there is significant change in Japan's foreign policy. Abe has made several moves to ensure a more stable national security and also in enhancing its regional role responding greatly to rapid changes within the region, in particular the increase in China's power. Despite a strong link in history, Shinzo Abe is making efforts to ensure a more balance of power in the Asia region yet maintaining its relationship with Beijing. His efforts has stirred agreements and disagreements withing the Japanese government and its political leaders.
