520			_aTensions in the South China Sea are at their highest levels in decades with China's building of artificial islands highlighting the ferocity of numerous competing claims in the region. Part of claiming maritime territories involves patrolling them and this task falls to both surface vessels and aircraft. It is therefore unsurprising that the demand for maritime patrol aircraft is particularly high from the Asia-Pacific region at present as nations deal with territorial disputes as well as an increase in piracy, migration and other maritime challenges.
