520 _aAlthough total numbers are small the main group of people involved in jihadism in Australia are of Lebanese descent. This article reports a study aimed at explaining why this should be. Although disadvantage and marginalisation were predisposing explanations, on their own these were not sufficient. The primary factor seemed to be close personal connections.
