China has concerns related to sovereignity and territorial integrity in its relations with the ROK. China sees the relationship with the ROK as an opportunity for mutually beneficial cooperation and China hopes that the ROK will work with China to maintain peace and stability on the Korean peninsula. In promoting regional cooperation China also hopes that the regional system can become more balanced.
