Report of an extensive two year study into the culture of the American military. Found that the basic elements of military culture (values, ethics, performance expectations, standards) were high across all ranks and services, both active and reserve. However morale was less good. Recruitment and retention problems and disatisfaction with career opportunities have arisen. The report says this is because the U.S. armed forces are overcommitted, underpaid and under resourced.
