Short analysis of what Australia needs to do to maintain a credible maritime force consistent with its status as a medium power and it's regional role. Draws on several sources including the author's previous work "Maritime strategy for medium powers", and "British Maritime Doctrine BR1806". Concludes that the Australian Navy needs to enhance air defence and mine countermeasures.
