Regional approach to conflict resolution /
Omar Halim
- 2007
Useful account of the formation of ASEAN and the ARF that shows how the original aims of developing confidence through the economic, social and cultural fields evolved to include security through initiatives such as ZOPFAN, TAC, and ARF. ARF's formal stages are explained as are the non-official Track Two undertakings. Concludes with the 2003 Bali declaration that establishes the ASEAN Security Community, and notes that ASEAN members intended to commit to an ASEAN Charter in November 2007 (the article written before this event).
