The first unmanned aerial vehicle-based platform to provide maritime ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) is due to become operational in 2013. In general, however, navies have been slow to embrace full UAV potential. This article looks at the various models of UAVS that may be employed into this program.
