<br/><br/> Analyses the Malaysia-Japan relations during the administration of Mahathir Mohammad focussing on 2 case studies, the "Look East" policy and Japanese direct investment in Malaysia.  As suggested in the case studies presented, Mahathir's policies were dictated by his nationalism and anti-Western stance, which at times tended to alienate the Japanese government.
