The CWC was ten years old on 29 April 2007, by which time all signatories were supposed to have declared and destroyed all existing chemical weapons and production facilities. This deadline has been extended to 2012 but will probably also be missed. Describes what has been done in the USA and Russia, and what remains to be done by these two countries with between them 95% of the world's declared chemical weapons stockpiles.
