Motives and implications behind China's ASAT test /

on 11th January 2007 China's military conducted an anti-satellite missile test in which an aging weather satellite was destroyed at an altitude of 537 miles above the earth. This article identifies a number of questions raised by the event including international space cooperation, non military use of space, and the extent of political versus military power in China.
