Argues that Abu Musab al Suri (real name Mustafa Setmariam Nasar) is the principle architect of al-Qaeda's post 9-11 structure and strategy, transforming it from a vulnerable hierarchy to the resilient decentralised movement adopted after the fall of the Taliban. A Syrian with Spanish citizenship who lived for some time in London he was arrested in November 2005 in Quetta, Pakistan, and is now in U.S. custody.
