Kidnapping trends : examining patterns from Europe to Asia /

The incidence of kidnappings throughout the world in 2006 was broadly stable but there are regional variations. In Asia local business and community targets are top of the list followed by government targets, and organised crime groups are the mostly likely culprits whereas politically motivated kidnapping continued to decline.
