For poor countries' youth, dashed hopes signal danger ahead /

The number of young people in poor countries is already at 1.3 billion and expected to peak between the years 2035 and 2050. This article looks at the risks posed by the youth bulge particularly the mismatch between expectations and opportunities which can lead to frustration and possible conflict. Identifies some positive measures and urges policy makers to actively implement measures to improve the lot of young people.
