N2  - This volume is made in 3 parts.  Firstly, it devotes 2 chapters to the history of strategic offensive air power. the book includes some study of strategic missiles.  They form a natural progression from the longer-range stand-off missiles released from manned aircraft.  Thirdly, some areas which are of more general interest than merely that of strategic operations have been included such as crew environment and escape, some advanced navigational systems and the still relatively unknown science of 'stealth technology'-the bases of which are already in the public domain, though the details of their application are still heavily classified.
