<br/><br/> Describes what is being done to improve the security of marine transportation as set out in the International Maritime Organisations new chapter in the SOLAS convention, which introduces the International Ship and Port Facilities Security Code. The code applies to all passenger and cargo vessels of 500 gross tons and above and includes mobile drilling platforms. Technological solutions include hydrophones, imagery, sensors, and hybrid systems using a wide range of inputs to give a protective shield.
