Operating from bases in and with the alleged support of Pakistan the Taliban insurgency shows little sigh of weakening even after five years of international counterinsurgency efforts. the Taliban are using threats, intimidation and propaganda to influence local Afghan populations against both the Kabul government and the international coalition forces.
