<br/><br/> Terrorism is not a new phenomenon, terrorist incidents are not running at unusually high levels, but government rhetoric from UK and USA since the 9-11 attacks seems to have ignored both these basic points. Politicians seem unwilling to learn the lessons of history and in the case of U.S. treatment of detainees both history and law have been ignored.
