Modern soldiers are being loaded with more and more items of high technology equipment. Individually the equipment works well but does not integrate smoothly - the effect is cumbersome, heavy, and inefficient. This article reports on new efforts in USA, UK, and Germany to redesign the entire armour, equipment, and weaponry of the soldier of the future.
