Short account of the OBOE operations carried out towards the end of the Second World War. OBOE TWO, the amphibious assault on Balikpapan, remains the largest such operation undertaken by Australian forces. OBOE ONE was the assault on Tarakan, and OBOE SIX the landings at Labuan and Brunei. (OBOEs 3,4,and 5 were planned but not carried out). First published in Semaphore, Issue 10, 2005.
