Despite the attraction and benefits of artillery ammunition that can be targetted after firing developments have tended to be limited. This article considers the current state of the art noting the origins in America's Copperhead and Russia's Krasnopol systems, and more recent innovations in the fire-and-forget category being developed in Europe and the USA.
