The impending collapse of Arab civilization
- 2005
Puts the case that the view, propounded by Samuel Huntington and Bernard Lewis, that the modern world faces a clash of civilizations is not correct. Instead it suggests that Islam as a religion is doing well, but that in economic and development terms the (mostly Muslim) Arab world is not. Suggests that unquestioning acceptance of the clash of civilzation idea as the basis for grand strategy is not sound policy.
