This issue of military psychology is devoted to recent research on women in the navy pertaining to personnel issues that were raised in the presidential commission hearings for keeping women out of combat units, sexual harassment, the impact of pregnancy and the single parenthood on mission accomplishment, the unique medical needs of women and the effect on families of sending women on a deployment. Moast of the articles in this issue address personnel concerns that are not sex or service specific and have applicability to the army, air force and marine corps.
