<br/><br/> Although the basic concept of mortars havs changed little since their introduction in 1915, there have been siginificant developments in the ammunition. Guided munitions offer a dramatic change but also a dramatic increase in price thus restricting them to higher calibre weapons. This article looks at some of these developments.
