Social movements in Hong Kong/ Yongshun Cai - 2021

This paper explores how threat triggers and sustains social movements. A definition of social movement is given in the context of the happenings in modern day Hong Kong. Political demands and grievances have been voiced out, particularly after the China central government take over and the weakening of power felt by the people of Hong Kong. The anti-extradition bill movement was mentioned, about the worries Hong Kong have of unfair reprisals in China.
