Europe's nightmare looks set to worsen/ Peter Westmore - 2021

Europe predicted that renewable energy is the way forward after the Kyoto Climate Summit in 1997 andl-fired power station was shut in anticpation of this. Yet energy prices still went up. This has hurt business and are asking for bailouts. Investment in oil and gas has lessened and led to acute shortages. Hence after 20 years renewables still cannot meet the demands of energy.
