<br/><br/> In this paper, aim to contribute to the understanding of gender bias in peacekeeping deployments by exploring if female military personnel are systematically less deployed at the early stages of UN peace operations. The concept of risk includes different factors, and some of these factors are not always directly observable. TCCs are therefore likely to base their decisions to deploy women on perceived risk, including uncertainty.
