The objective of this study is to test time-varying causal nexus between defense expenditure and economic growth in China. As the most pivotal expenditure, defense expenditure has been playing a significant role in the macro-economy. The allocation of military and non-military expenditures for developing economies is a major policy issue that can direct the pace of economic growth.
