Philippine militancy shows weakness in regional intelligence co-ordination

<br/><br/> The persistence of the fighting in Marawi and pledges of allegiance to the IS by several Philippine militant groups suggest that the IS could seek to re-establish itself as a territorial entity in Southeast Asia. The article suggests, the destruction of IS in Iraq and Syria will lead to increasing number of jihadists and foreign fighters travelling to Southeast Asia. A regional strategy must be sought to reduce the threat posed by transnational militancy in the region.
