The first section covers strategic policy issues (Transforming US nuclear strategy; Human intelligence and 11 September; US military doctrine and counterinsurgency; and Getting homeland security right). Subsequent sections examine issues at a regional level. The Asia section covers the Korean peninsula, South Asia, regionalism in Southeast Asia, China, Japan, and questions Australia's influence in the region. The final chapter is a short look into the future. There are over 30 pages of maps and diagrams.
