- 2014
Describes research into the British approach to disaster exercises taking account of experiences from three different large scale exercises. Concludes with recommendations on how to improve UK guidance on disaster exercises. Notes the usefulness of a building-block approach, the importance of adaptability at the scene (emergency services usually improvised plans and procedures to cope with the unexpected), and the value of feedback from volunteer participants in disaster exercises.
