Providing high bandwidth satellite communications for personnel, vehicles and small vessels on the move presents considerable technical challenges; there is also the problem of limited availability of military satcom bandwidth. This article describes America's new MUOS (Mobile User Objective System) satellite system and end-user equipment from various manufacturers.
