President Yudhoyono on October 2011 launched the process as the TNI (Tentera Nasional Indonesia)marked its 66 anniversary saying that he intended to keep increasing the defense budget each year, would go toward modernizing weapons systems and improving the welfare of personnel and cicilian support staff. This is made possible by dramatic improvements in Indonesia's macro=economic picture.
