SAS: Phantoms of the jungle: a history of the Australian Special Air Service - St. Leonards, NSW: Allen & Unwin Pty Ltd, 1991 - 527p.

A good descriptive account of the operations of the Australian SAS from 1957 to the end of the 1980s. Although this book is not a formal history it does show how these special forces evolved. It draws extensively on SAS Regiment records and personal recollections of some the soldiers involved. Covers service in Borneo during the Confrontation with Indonesia, and operations in Vietnam. Illustrated with photographs and maps.
