This book tells the story of the half forgotten colonial wars of thirty or more years, the young men who were conscripted to fight in them. The British armed forces in the years 1948-1960 which coincides almost exactly with the period during which universal male fixed term peacetime conscription national service. In many cases the indifference, both personal and official with which they were treated on their return home, and this book represents an attempt however small and belated to set straight the record regarding the achievements.
