<br/><br/> This article discusses the lack of adequate attention to the Arab security sector snd its complex political and social roles in the Arab states.  The goal of this article is twofold, first to demonstrate the death of scholarly attention to the Arab security sector and its role in the state, politics and society.  Second to present a new research agenda for the Arab security sectors that draws on theoretical and comparative advances in the field of civil military relations.
