<br/><br/> The Southeast Asian states in the Malay Archipelago have inherited counterinsurgency and counterterrorism strategies based on previous historical experience of using comprehensive approaches that have succeeded in defeating insurgencies.  This article examines the key lessons of their comprehensive approach to counter terrorism which maybe of significance to the US and the west.
