<br/><br/> This article demonstrates that there were elements of professionalism present in the Australian military before the founding of the Royal Military College in 1911 in which these foundations prove to be crucial in the long-term development of the military profession in Australia. It is also a study of how these elements shaped what the Australian officer corps is now.
