This book comprises two main parts: the first is a quite detailed analysis of Osama bin Laden, with biographical information, that charts his turn to terrorism and the increasing use of violence. The second is more than 100 pages of appendices of documents with translations including facsimiles of original letters, statements, and extracts from a so called terrorist manual. First published in French just before the 11 September 2001 attacks under the title "Au nom d'Oussama ben Laden". The author is President of the Paris based International Observatory on Terrorism, and a consultant on terrorism to the U.N.
