Conventional arms procurement in ASEAN: a defence export role for Australia?
- Canberra ACT: Australian Defence Studies Centre, 1995
- 89p.
Study of the extent to which Australia could or should develop an arms export industry targetted at Southeast Asia. Concludes that such a role has not been adequately considered, that a defence export role should be subordinate to Australia's strategic priorities, and that if such a role is to be developed it should focus on dual use technologies rather than inherently lethal products such as warships. Sets out the steps necessary to achieve successful implementation of a defence export role.
