Britain needs to revitalise its approach to strategy and re-engage academics, experts, and other commentators to provide a balanced Clausewitzian trinity of war fighters, governors and the people. The article says British focus in recent years has tended to be on achieving success in battle while neglecting the purpose of a war. Military education needs to be refocussed to put intellectual effort into grand strategy, and use should be made of tools of information technology to facilitate this (mention is made of King's College London blog for discussion of defence green paper). Authors are senior officers in British military.
