Ethnic Armies: polyethnic armed forces from the time of the Habsburgs to the age of the Superpowers - Waterloo, Ontario: Wilfrid Laurier Univ. Press, 1990 - 202p.

Papers presented at the 13th RMC Military History Symposium held at the Royal Military College of Canada March 1986. Suggests that armed forces made up of various ethnic groups, reflecting the societies in which they lived, were the norm throughout most of history except for the period 1750 to 1920. These papers sought to present issues and experiences relevant to the bi-ethnic Canadian military.
