Maneuver in the electromagnetic domain / John Clifford. - 2009

Highlights the need for effective countermeasures for the large scale use of remote controlled improvised explosive devices (RCIEDs) now commonplace in Afghanistan and Iraq. Widespread use of such weapons has demonstrated a gap in allied response capability. Early counter measures had a variety of undesirable side effects (e.g. anti IED jammers also prevented desired radio communications). This paper argues strongly that the electromagnetic domain be recognised and given appropriate priority and should be seen as a warfighting domain just like more established domains.
