<br/><br/> The JMSDF reduces the size of its fleet due to budget cutbacks.    Under current funding allocations the JMSDF has the resources to procure one destroyer and one submarine each year.  The White Paper noted that a considerable scale of military forces including nuclear forces, still remains in the region.
