As a developing country facing an uphill battle against social and political fragmentation China is becoming increasingly aware of the security implications of its growing economic presence in overseas market.  This growing awareness has had an impact on chinese armed forces. China's political leadership has instructed the military to prepare to protect its growing stakes abroad.
